The Twin Falls Park Trail is closed due to erosion along the riverbank. This closure includes the entire 5 km riverside trail connecting:
Alexandra Falls Day Use Area
Louise Falls Campground
Escarpment Creek Camping Area
Visitors are advised not to access the riverside trail between these locations at this time.
In addition, all viewing platforms remain closed due to erosion; two at Alexandra Falls and one at Louise Falls. The Louise Falls Campground and the Alexandra Falls rest stop amenities (washroom and picnic tables) remain open. Additionally, the short section of trail above Alexandra Falls that includes stairs down to the riverbank is not affected by erosion; however, access to the riverbank is currently closed due to high water levels.
Escarpment Creek remains closed while wildfire remediation work continues.
While in the park, visitors should respect all signs and posted closures. Erosion remains the primary concern, and there is no confirmed timeline for reopening the trail or viewing platforms. Closures will remain in place until a full assessment is completed of the area and trails and infrastructure are deemed safe for public access.
