The fully serviced Louise Falls Campground, at the centre of Twin Falls Territorial Park is surrounded by a towering jack pine forest and spectacular flora. Explore the hiking trails along the Hay River gorge to Alexandra Falls and Escarpment Creek, stopping at the scenic lookouts and travel the spiral staircase viewpoint overlooking Louise Falls.

The Louise Falls Campground is located on NWT Highway 1, 74.6km from the NWT/Alberta border. The park is just outside the Hamlet of Enterprise and is approximately 50 km south of Hay River.

Hay River. Known as the Hub of the North, the town of Hay River is surrounded by boreal forests, rivers, and lakes, making it the perfect base for an outdoor adventure.

Park Highlights

The Hay River Gorge is a spectacular sight, cut deep by the honey-coloured river. Wonder at the 400-million-year-old limestone formations along the Hay River gorge. A unique 138-step spiral staircase leads you down the embankment to a viewpoint overlooking the three-tiered Louise Falls, which can be easily viewed from the day use areas of the park. From the park visitors can hike the walking trail (5km round trip) to Alexandra Falls and Escarpment Creek Day Use areas.

  • While the campground does have drinking water, the closest RV water-fill station to the park is at the Hay River Visitor Information Centre.
  • Escarpment Creek, the other campground in Twin Falls Territorial Park, will not be operating for the 2025 season due to wildfire damage.

Perhaps the best beach in the North, the Hay River Beach is mi of sandy dunes stretching along the shores of Great Slave Lake.
Make time on your Saturday to visit the Fisherman's Wharf, a market filled with local goods and crafts. It's open from 10 am - 2 pm on Saturdays during the summer.
