Hosting Events in Parks

Private and Special Events

Our parks make wonderful venues for all types of special events, including business BBQ's, family reunions, and weddings.

If you want to hold a special or private event in a territorial park, you may need a permit. Permits are generally required for events in public areas of the park, especially if the event or activity is likely to affect the public’s normal use and enjoyment of the park due to the event's location, attendance, or nature of the activities.

Special events permit cost

There is a $200 fee for a special events permit, payable once the application is approved.

If you are considering hosting, apply for a special event permit. Applications are accepted up to a year in advance. As the review timeline varies depending on when we receive your application, we encourage you to apply as early as possible. Special events permits will not be issued 'on the spot' when you arrive at a park and failure to acquire a permit may result in unpermitted use of the park for the event. If you are not sure if your event requires a permit, please contact us!
