Swimming restrictions at the main beach area of Fred Henne Territorial Park have been lifted following consecutive follow-up water testing that indicates bacteria levels are within safe recreational water quality guidelines.

The Chief Environmental Health Officer with the Department of Health and Social Services has recommended reopening the beach. As a precaution, NWT Parks will continue testing daily over the coming week and will continue to monitor conditions closely.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while we exercised an abundance of caution to help protect public health.

The beach is now open for swimming.
