Park Highlights

On the smaller side, Long Lake warms up enough in the summer for water activities to be extremely enjoyable, including swimming, boating, tubing, waterskiing, wind sailing, and jet skiing. Volleyball tournaments are common and there is a change house for beachgoers.

Fred Henne Territorial Park also has three large picnic shelters for daily rentals (10:00am-10:00pm). These popular spots book up quickly, so be sure to reserve yours online for your next gathering.

The gatehouse, kitchen shelters, shower building, and beach outhouse are all wheelchair accessible.

The Ingraham Trail Road Trip begins in Yellowknife and extends 70 km/43.5 mi along NWT Highway 4 to Tibbitt Lake. Lakes, campgrounds, picnic sites, and boat launches dot this beautiful drive which winds through an unforgettable Precambrian landscape of lakes, forests, and ancient rocks. A variety of outdoor recreation opportunities are available on the Ingraham Trail, including hiking trails, canoeing, boating, swimming, camping, fishing, and birdwatching.

Safety information
Beach attendants employed by the park provide added safety for swimmers and lifejackets can be borrowed on-site. Please follow all water safety guidelines, including always keeping children within arm’s reach.
