Spruce Tips

Spend the afternoon learning about traditional skills and practices with Peter Fraser, a knowledge holder and Métis community member. This is a hands-on opportunity to connect with land-based practices passed down through generations.

Learn about:

  • Duck plucking and preparation.
  • Fish cleaning techniques.
  • Making spruce salve and learning about its uses.
  • Storytelling that ties these practices to northern ways of life

This is a family-friendly event, open to all ages, and a unique opportunity to deepen your understanding of Indigenous knowledge and skills. Whether you’re curious to try something new or continue your learning, you’re invited to come out, get involved, and experience traditional knowledge in a welcoming environment.
