Prosperous Lake Territorial Park Day Use Area

General Information

Don't be deceived by the apparent size of the lake as seen from shore - most of Prosperous Lake's 16 km are just out of sight and ready to be explored. The park is primarily a boat launch for fishing for monstrous lake trout or paddling your canoe down river to the Tartan Rapids on the Yellowknife River.

Park Highlights

Offering a double boat launch and two floating docs, this day use area is a great access point for canoeing to the Tartan Rapids.

There is excellent fishing for northern pike, arctic grayling, walleye, whitefish and lake trout in Prosperous Lake.

The Ingraham Trail Road Trip begins in Yellowknife and extends 70 km/43.5 mi along NWT Highway 4 to Tibbitt Lake.
