Located along NWT Hwy. 1, at the NWT/ Alberta border the 60th Parallel Territorial Park is a great place to stop, stretch your legs and get a fist taste of what the North has to offer. Stop in to the Parks Visitor Centre to see the local wildlife and art displays and meet the centre's friendly staff who are available to welcome you.
The Visitor Information Centre is open from mid-May to mid-September (from 8 am to 8 pm). Brochures, maps, fishing licences, camping permits, a pay phone, drinking water, washrooms and fresh coffee are available to visitors. Aboriginal arts and crafts are on display in the centre. Audiovisual presentations dipict the northern way of life and what you might expect to see on your travels in the NWT. Come in and have a cup of coffee while you take a short break.
Adjacent to the visitor information centre, the 60th Parallel Territorial Park has a small campground (with 7 campsites) and a scenic picnic area overlooking the beautiful Hay River.
