Located on tranquil Madeline Lake, this park is the perfect place for a picnic. Parents can grill at the fire pits while children play on the nearby playground. After lunch, use the boat launch and dock area to access the lake for boating and watersports.

Park Highlights

With its sheltered location and warm temperature, Madeline Lake is primarily used as a launching point for canoeists, small boats, and anglers.

There is also a well-marked six-kilometer hike called Big Hill Lake Trail that begins and ends at a parking lot approximately 2 km west of the park on the Ingraham trail.

The Ingraham Trail Road Trip begins in Yellowknife and extends 70 km/43.5 mi along NWT Highway 4 to Tibbitt Lake. Lakes, campgrounds, picnic sites, and boat launches dot this beautiful drive which winds through an unforgettable Precambrian landscape of lakes, forests, and ancient rocks. A variety of outdoor recreation opportunities are available on the Ingraham Trail, including hiking trails, canoeing, boating, swimming, camping, fishing, and birdwatching.
