Hamlet of Kakisa. The smallest town in the NWT, the 40-person Hamlet of Kakisa is just a short drive away from the Lady Evelyn Falls Territorial Park. There is a gas station, but no grocery store.

Park Highlights

The Lady Evelyn Falls are only a short hike from the park. These dramatic falls form a giant curtain of water as the Kakisa River spills over a limestone escarpment. A staircase leads into the gorge at the base of the falls and the warm boulder-strewn river has many spots for wading and swimming, or fishing.

This park is an excellent fishing spot. Northern pike, pickerel/walleye and Arctic grayling can often be hooked by casting with small spoons into the pools at the base of the falls.
