NWT Travel - What you should know before planning to visit

October 07, 2020

To prevent the spread of COVID-19 those who do not have an exemption under the public health order, or have not been granted one for exceptional circumstances, are not allowed to travel within the Northwest Territories.

Unless otherwise directed by the Chief Public Health Officer, travellers arriving in the NWT must mandatorily self-isolate and stay at home for 14 days in Yellowknife, Inuvik, Hay River or Fort Smith only. NWT residents cannot self-isolate in a small community or other regional centre other than the four listed communities if they have returned from outside the NWT.
