Due to extremely dry weather conditions, temporary fire bans are in effect at some of our parks. Fire bans prohibit all open fires, which includes the use of approved fire pits and all wood fires including those contained within a device.

Effective immediately and until further notice, campfires are not permitted at the following Parks:

Pontoon Lake Territorial Park

Powder Point Territorial Park

Reid Lake Territorial Park

Hay River Territorial Park

Twin Falls Territorial Park (Louise Falls and Escarpment Creek Campgrounds and Alexandra Falls Day Use Area)

Queen Elizabeth Territorial Park

Hidden Lake Territorial Park 

60th Parallel Territorial Park

Fort Providence Territorial Park

Lady Evelyn Falls Territorial Park

Camp stoves, enclosed BBQs and propane-fueled cooking and heating devices are permitted for use. They must be placed within regulation fire pits and should not emit a flame more than 0.5 metres in diameter and 0.5 metres in height.
