FIRE BAN

Due to the extremely dry weather conditions, open fires are banned in all parks in the North Slave Region.

The following territorial parks are included in this fire ban:

  • Fred Henne Territorial Park
  • Prelude Lake Territorial Park
  • Reid Lake Territorial Park
  • All Day Use areas within the North Slave Region

As a reminder, during a fire ban, all open fires are banned within the park, including fires in designated fire pits. Camp stoves and BBQ's (propane, briquette and charcoal fired) are allowed so long as the BBQ unit includes a cover that can completely enclose the firebox. The cover is a mandatory condition of use of BBQ's in the parks. If a unit has an open flame without a cover it is not allowed.
